ABV: 9%

Color: Brown/Dark Amber

A rich nose of roasted malt.  A smooth drinking beer for 9% with a nice caramel and raisin flavor with a hint of buttery oak and you can tell there is a bourbon flavor but nothing that crushes the taste of the beer.  I would say one of the best balanced Bourbon Barrel beer I have had so far.

Recommendation: If you can get this try it.

Rating: 8.5/10

Color: Amber golden

Wow the nose is garlic and basil with hints of malt, horrible smell.  A smooth malty front with a hint of basil and an after taste of garlic that just makes this fall apart.  The garlic gets stronger and stronger after swallowed a complete turn off with everything else.  The smell is so disjointed it makes it taste worse then it really is but even that isn’t much.

Recommendation: Pass it up not worth drinking.

Sprecher Dopple Bock

ABV: 8%

Color: Dark brown but looks brown.

Sweet malty nose with hints of alcohol and raisin. The flavor starts off really malty then gives way to a sweet raisin like flavor. Having a higher alcohol content I expected some alcohol on the tongue but there was not any.

Recommendation: Awesome Dopple Bock seek it out.

Rating: 8/10

ABV: 4.2%

Color: A light red with a pinkish head.

A rich wheat smell with a hint of strawberry. A mild sweetness that gives way to a mixture of strawberry and wheat then after the swallow a very grainy wheat flavor that just stays with you. A nice balance of fruit and grain that is surprising because I’ve had a few fruit flavored beers that are fruit beers and not fruit flavored beer. Good summer beer that you could drink after a hard days work.

Recommendation: Seek it out.

Sprecher Abbey Triple

ABV: 8.41%

Color: Cloudy brownish orange.

Small hops smell with a fruity malty background the fruity smell reminds me of fuji apple. Nice fruity sweetness again that apple is in there but nothing that is a main flavor and a back of the tongue hop flavor. The alcohol is a little warm on this one but nothing too overpowering. The more I try Belgian Style Ales the more I love the style. Overall this is a fruity but not too sweet beer. If you like Belgian Beer you will like this one.

Recommendation: If you can find it get it.
